Yup ...
Piper has pretty much avoided all the dangers  that might have come to her way
- simply because she has such efficient back-up guards that stand on duty 24/7.
 
Piper herself naturally has no clue of anything dangerous that goes on around her, she's way too focused on everything cute and flowery - and she's even less aware of how carefully Speedwind, Rody and even Kron actually look after her.
Speedwind because he is her mentor, Rody for obvious reasons and Kron because he actually likes Piper (and because Speedwind would totally kick his ass should something happen to her). So whatever trouble Piper has ever gotten into - there has always been someone to watch her back.

To begin with naturally most of the guarding was on Speedwind's shoulders and pretty much from the beginning he had to adjust to being constantly aware of what Piper was doing, where and be ready to react fast. After Kron tagged along Speedwind had trouble trusting his protege's safety to him even though Kron never gave any reason to doubt he'd have something against Piper. Things only got easier after Rody joined the team. Since Rody would spend pretty much all of his waken time with Piper Speedwind could finally loosen up a bit.

However poor Rody still has much to learn about babysitting XD
