I was kinda debating of not doing the calendar this year.... But it would a shame not to, now would it... so lets try if this year more people are into taking part and if not then... less work for me.

So ... THE Crazy Curious Christmas Calendar is here again!

This year it will be the classic everyone's welcomed - calendar.

I want to give everyone a chance to enter so it's going to be partly a raffle and party editor's pick. Everyone's invited - even if you've been featured before.

This year however, the calendar might be a tad simpler than before.

How to enter

🎀 Reply to this journal with a reference picture of the OC of yours, that you wish to have drawn in the calendar.

🎀OCs only yet the shape or species doesn't matter. Reference image with colors / color palette is absolutely required!

🎀 Tell me what this OC loves about Christmas/winter the most.

The calendar will start at 1st of December and will be updated daily or every other day.

Which means anyone of you is welcome to submit a character of a friend to be drawn in the calendar!

You're welcome to submit characters even if you or your friend had your OCs drawn in any of the previous calendars.

How to enter

Be a watcher of mine (newcomers welcome naturally). The friend you're choosing doesn't have to be a watcher.

Choose a friend and once OC of theirs.

Reply to this journal

with a reference picture of the chosen OC. Tagging the friend is optional.

Send me a note / Chat message

If you wish to keep your submission a secret/surprise.

Make sure you pick characters you know your friend is fine with being drawn by other people! I shall once again execute artistic freedom when it comes to style and design of the characters.

Gotta stick to the traditions - so once again I offer you, my dear friends, a chance to surrender your characters to my merciless ridicule!

It's going to be editors pick again. Which means anyone of you is welcome to submit their characters to be drawn in the calendar and I'll draw those that inspire me or suit the image the best.

You're welcome to submit your characters even if you had yours drawn in any of the previous calendars. Some days again I will do raffles so everyone has a chance to get their character drawn and I always reserve room for newcomers.

OCs only yet the shape or species doesn't matter. This year however I will prefer humanoids / human-like characters - or whatever creatures that can wear clothes. For instance if you have a humanized version of your TF-oc, it has better chances of getting picked than the robot version.

Reference picture needs to be provided and as you enter you give me freedom to draw your character in my style the way I choose.

How's it rolling everyone?

I shall once again I shall try to be early with my Christmas shenaningas, the calendar will surely happen but first - anyone up for trading Christmas cards this year? :D

I love sending actual cards and getting them - so a card trade is open for anyone willing! Meaning, get a nice card, scribble on it, send it to me and you'll get something fun sent from Finland to you! I usually like to send some cute lil doodles with my cards, but won't expect art back (unless you want to make me super happy!), so it can be just a card trade this time if you so wish.

I know there are already many people with whom trading cards has become kind of a tradition, but I would like to hear from you nevertheless, especially if your address has changed.

So drop a comment if you'd like to trade actual real life Christmas cards with me this year!

* clears throat* Well I suppose it's high time I address the very not so sneaky dissappearing trick I did to you guys this spring... and all also the very drastic lack of art and activity. Thus Curious makes her glorious return!

As most you probably have guessed, work this spring was borderline madness.

I loved every bit of it of course - but gotta say it kept me pretty occupied, especially at May.

First we had to deal with some weeks of distant teaching and then patching up after the named period, and after that the usual springtime husstle the shcool life turns into before the holidays - especially since this year our principals apparently thought it a great idea to host at a staff meeting of sorts every other week (not a great idea I assure you) everybody's been very busy.

And since I'm so awesome I naturally has to take it to the extreme! Meaning I have, among other things, taken care of all the grading for my subject, cleaned up and rearragend my classroom for future renovations, learned and help set up an entire new av-system in our school, arranged and organized the presentation video for our end of the year celebrations, edited the said one hour long video twice, wrote 137 supportive short letters to my 7th graders and wrote, decorated and delivered 15 personal longer letters for my graduating class (my first batch of babies are so grown up already).

Am I boasting? ... a little... but!

I have also illustrated an entire children's book during the last two months, which has kept my ass rather busy after getting home from work! I also painted a large painting for my cousin for his graduation and somehow managed to stick to my gym routine. Am I excused already...?

Anyhow I'm on summer vacation now for the next two months. The last week I've basically just beein snailing around and kinda recovering from the workload (last two weeks of May there wasn't a single day I was home before 7-8pm from work). However I'm already struggling with how to handle all this free time! Call me weird but honestly I do not deal well with holidays and weekends. I'd rather be at work where I have social contacts and routines, both of which are currently rather hard to maintain outside of work. If I'm not careful my days tend to shift into mindless slacking, where time shifts through my fingers like sand and I get nothing done.

However as always I have plans! Firstly I need to get back on track with drawing - find motivation and routine and finish some stuff still waiting for my attention. So I'm thinking of starting some sort of a daily doodle thing for instagram, but we'll see. I'll definitely take part in Art fight this year so look me up there if you're taking part as well. I'm also thinking about opening some cheap little commissisons, since I could use some pocket money on my PayPal and it does seem easier for me to manage my time if I have some "deadlines" or todos.

And I want to read books this summer! Lots of them! So if you have any great recommendations for fantasy, romance, scifi, contemporary or adventure books i would love to hear them :D
